Amalie Jakobsen (born 1989, Grenaa, Denmark) is a Berlin-based artist known for her minimalist sculptures and large-scale public installations. Her work explores scientific and anthropological concepts of time and space. She holds a BA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths University, London.
Jakobsen’s abstract geometric forms and microcosmic landscapes create immersive experiences that draw viewers in. Her sculptures physically engage with their surroundings, prompting the viewer to move or look in a particular way. As the artist herself describes, her work seeks to “disrupt” familiar systems in order to find new ways of understanding the world around us.
